ONE year on from Snow Patrol’s iconic City Hall performance fans are being given the opportunity to relive the moment on the big screen.
This time last year Belfast was rolling out the red carpet and getting ready to host the glitterati of A-listers from the world of music as the MTV juggernaut headed our way.
On November 9 there will be a chance to relive one of the most memorable moments of Belfast Music Week and the MTV EMAs with a free screening of Snow Patrol’s City Hall gig on the big screen.
The concert – held against the iconic backdrop of City Hall and beamed to a global audience of 1.2 billion – is already part of musical history, going down as one of the most impressive events Belfast has ever hosted.
The 6pm screening is part of this year’s Belfast Music Week which will see more than 250 events taking part across the city between November 4 and 11.
Lord Mayor of Belfast Alderman Gavin Robinson said the legacy of MTV had helped instil a new sense of confidence among our homegrown musical talent.
“In terms of music and talent, we’ve had a lot to shout about for years but hosting a world-class event such as the EMAs allowed us to take centre stage and really shine a spotlight on what we have to offer as a musical city,” he said.
