Polar Patrol Publishing, owned by Universal/Fiction-signed act Snow Patrol, has signed a co-publishing deal with R&S Records and its imprint Apollo.
CMU reports that the deal came about after a chance meeting at a gig between Jonny Quinn and Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and R&S owners Renaat Vandepapeliere and Sabine Maes.
Vandepapeliere said of the deal: “It felt like a perfect and natural progression; a massive honour for Sabine and myself.”
Quinn commented: “Polar Patrol are delighted to join forces with the legendary R&S Records who are celebrating 30 years in 2013, which is no mean feat in the music business. We are looking forward to working closely together on their exciting roster of writers and artists.”
Polar Patrol is was set up by Jonny Quinn, Nathan Connolly and Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol and is run day-to-day by Steve Farris who signed the band to their original publishing deal.
Polar Patrol currently publishes Johnny McDaid (songwriter), Here We Go Magic (band), Kidda (electronica artist), Luke Temple (singer/songwriter) and Gita Harcourt (songwriter), and is administered worldwide by Kobalt Music – which will administer works through the new partnership.
