A young Carrick hairdresser is swapping the salon for the recording studio after catching the attention of a local music industry legend.

The young songstress has even been offered a number of tracks by Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody, who penned many of the band’s hits including Chasing Cars and Run.
“We’ve been told that Gary Lightbody had been in touch with Courtney-Maree’s managers at Half Bap Studios to let them know he has four or so tracks she can use, so it’s great to see that she’s getting some good feedback. She’s also been asked to perform again by Terri Hooley this weekend,” Avril said.
